I do not know, what's about this photo, but it captures the eyes and just does not let go. The foreground is so static, with that bit of laziness of the summer evening, but the middle distance clouds and colours of the sky suggest that there is something going on. The dramaturgy of those shapes and shades are so sudden comparing to idyllic scene from the lake's shore is just crushing and it almost yells that something is coming our way fast. So maybe it's that mystery of unknown that makes the whole picture so magical and makes us look on it for long moments, awaiting.
This is a very capturing photo. The way you grabbed the sun and created a nearly silhouetted landscape really defines the setting. The texture in the water is really appealing to the eye, as well as the distance it holds. The value you added on the color makes it more original, so of course, it's more interesting. As for the clouds, I think it'd be even more appealing if I was able to identify the detail instead of being so darkened. As for the foreground, the boat and dock, it really adds a mysterious meaning. "Take Me to Where the Sun Still Shines" perfectly defines this photo. Overall, it was a success and i'd love to see more of your work. I applaud you.
